When chocolate covered strawberries come to mind, I am sure this would not be your first thought. Luckily, I like to keep things interesting, and when chocolate covered strawberries were requested at work, I had to go over the top! When making these bad boys there really is no recipe, or instructions for that matter. All you need to know is what toppings you want and what flavor of chocolate you prefer, whether it is white, milk, or dark, and you are ready to make your own fancy berries! I chose to make an assortment of different berries using some of my favorite toppings which include: sprinkles, chocolate drizzle, shaved almonds, coconut, and oreo crumbs.
All are ingredients that you can find at your local grocery store for an extremely affordable price! As far as the chocolate goes, you can use any chocolate melting wafers that will be located in the baking aisle at the grocery store. It is recommended that you use the double-boiling technique when melting the chocolate, but I just microwave it in 30 second intervals and stir it until it is completely melted. After the chocolate is melted, dip the strawberries and then roll them in the topping of your choice.
These really are the most versatile dessert, and can be made in so many different ways! You could use colored chocolate for different seasons and holidays, and even use other topping like mini chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, m&m’s, melted caramel, etc. The options are truly endless, and trust me these will leave everyone impressed!
Don’t Forget the Sprinkles!
